Off to Florida!

I did a ton of errands today from glasses to library, ABCO to Rite-Aid, gym to bank.
Speaking of which, the big story on Sallee news is a warning: Don't ever rip a check in half if there is even the slightest chance you want to cash it someday. 'nuff said. :-(

We didn't dance tonight, which is a disappointment, but we are so close to packed it's amazing. Maybe we will actually get some sleep before a trip for once. Whoo hoo!

Earlier this week FL had a big power outage. I'm hoping everything is fixed for our coming visit! And I am so looking forward to the warm!!!!

See you in March!

Good show!

Tom and I went to see Stephanie DiPilla in "Don't Dress for Dinner". It was really funny and she was so good in it! What a great actress!

Lou was there, too, and he told me Marissa is going to be in the DHS production of "Fiddler on the Roof" so I am going to go see that after we get back from FL next week.

After the show we went to Prospectors for Sugarfootin' Sunday and it was really crowded again. We met Terri up there and it was great to see her after all this time.

Tomorrow we have training at the gym appointments and I have phys. ther. too. The actual time juggling is yet to be determined, but I am sure it will all work out.

Some really good news is ....I found the "missing" library book. Bringing them all back before we go is on my list of things to do (and get the one I lent to Ganine back, too!) before we leave on Thursday. Then I can get more to read at the beach!
(ah...warmth! I can't wait!)

Snow what's new?

The forecast was for snow in the wee hours and into the day and, sure enough, there is snow on the ground now (4:30 a.m.) I wonder if this means a snow day for my old school chums.....(Doreen has the week off anyway, so no snow day for her....just hope they can get George to the surgery without any trouble...)

Yesterday's Mark Chesnutt concert at Prospectors was good. What a change to see the artist in full size close range! LOL He sang with his two guitarist cohorts for two hours! We had a chance to do some quality dancing before he got there, too, so we had double the fun!

Guess what? Jeff and family might be coming to visit us in April! How exciting!!!

Tonight's dancing after bowling was fun, and Terri might be coming out tomorrow :-) and Sunday as well. Whoo hoo!

This was the second night in a row we watched hours and hours of "24, season six". (Go, Jack, go!)

I wonder if the library will take an exchange for book I seem to have lost somewhere between Florida and Mt. Holly? (and I didn't even get to read it :-(
Stay tuned for the outcome.

Keith and Carrie, George and Little Bigtown, Tom and Me

Presidents Day Week-end is over and what an exciting time it was for us! Two big concerts in as many days (and Mark Chesnutt coming up tomorrow at Prospectors, too!)

Friday night it was the long drive to Atlantic City, but Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban were certainly worth it. This was the first we've been in Boardwalk Hall since the old NJEA Friday night entertainment days and it is quite different, but huge. Carrie was so tiny from where we were sitting she was like a little dot. Pictures from my digital camera were not happening from that distance and with that lighting. Her voice was great, and the binocular glimpses we had of her were helpful.

Keith had a HUGE screen behind him so we could see his every move, and when he and the whole band moved up to center floor so "the people in the back" [aka US] could see better, it was very well received. He was personable, exciting, touching, and of course, an awesome musician and singer. [We love you, Keith Urban!]

Saturday night we got to the Wachovia Center early, which was a huge change of pattern for us! (we had the time wrong! lol) We heard on the way in that Sarah Johns ("The One in the Middle") had the flu, but would be performing. She was a good singer and very pretty and we see a fine future in store for her. Little Big Town was great, and with the stage in the center and round, they rotated nicely so all could get a glimpse of them performing directly.

The Wachovia seats were right by Tony and Cheryl....Jim and Ganine were across the whole arena from us and we never got to see them in person, but I peeked at them through the ever handy aforementioned binoculars.

George Strait sang a huge number of his songs from over the years
and I could tell why he is a legend in his own time.

The concert wasn't flashy or high tech effects, but simply great country music.

We were out so late both nights we didn't dance afterward.
We did get our exercise in though. We got our personal training in on Friday ( I did physical therapy too) and we went again on Sunday and Monday I went to the gym for a session with Mike and then phys ther and then back again to the gym for kick boxing class. (I love that class!) Monday I had more phys. ther. and then went to the gym later for the new aerobics dance class and some cardio (Jeopardy was on and the lady next to me was so impressed that I knew all the answers while we jogged along on the machine!)

New topic: I went to the big meeting on the new State Health Benefits Program. I am really glad I went because now I feel more knowledgeable AND I handed in my paper to change to Direct 10. I called Wilma and Cory and Joanne about it to try and make sure they had all the info.

Get this Strait!

We bought tickets to the George Strait show for Saturday night (Tony was stuck with a pair) and are looking forward to seeing him in concert! (We have Keith Urban and Carrie Underwood on Friday too! Quite the country music week-end!)

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have all the cruise photos and some videos online now to share with the world! LOL
They are among the latest albums on: http://www.picasaweb.google.com/rosallee

I fear they are mostly just of interest to those of us pictured (seen one cruise photo collection, seen them all...) but...there they are just in case!

Where is the Warm?

It is really cold and windy now in NJ. Winter, I think they call it...!

I spent a lot of time today putting the cruise photos and videos online to share. Now I have to start sending some out to the people I promised them to.

I went to kick-boxing today and Sugarfooting Sunday yesterday (boy, was it ever crowded! Mark Chestnut is performing there at Prospectors on the 20th....but we have Keith and Carrie first in AC on Friday). We danced a lot this week, actually-Wed-Sat --and I had a lot of fun on Wednesday teaching Patty, Vickie and the girls some line dances.

Friday afternoon is the big NJEA meeting for retirees to explain the new health benefits plan. It should be interesting...and I am looking forward to seeing Conni, too!

Tom had a good night bowling tonight. Our new Thursday brackets worked out mostly ok, except for one guy who wasn't happy with the tie breaking rules....I'll bet we get more this week, now that they see what it is like!

I have to say how happy I am being retired and not having to get up for work every day...and doing all the work, too! But I won't dwell on it because it would be mean to all the currently working folk who may be reading this............

I am rambling because it is late and I am punchy..........Hasta luego, amigos!

Busy Primary

It was a busy day at the polls yesterday! People came from all over Lumberton....many apparently never having voted in a primary before!....to vote for their choice candidates. Obama was somewhat ahead of Hilllary on our machines in District 5 and McCain was the clear winner for the Republicans on our tapes.

I was there from 5:15 a.m. until about 8:20 p.m. The people I worked with were really nice and things went smoothly. We have another primary in June before the November election. I don't think that one will be as busy.....

Today we have our personal trainer appt. at the gym, I have a dr. appointment, and I am going to be a guest dancer for our friend Patti and her girls somewhere in S. Jersey. Then we're dancing at Prospectors tonight. Whoo hoo!

Brunch at Michael's place in Phila on Sunday was delicious! We were missing Tom (worn out from the cruise) and Jill (sick) but Ann and Ted and Mike and Dina and I carried on admirably.
There was talk of Dina's career dreams and discussion re a Panama cruise.

We are going to Miami the end of this month. I still need to get a flight. (What happened to bargain airfare to FL????)

Home again, home again, jiggedy jig

It is late Sat night/Sun morning. We are home after almost a week of cruising on the Radiance of the Seas (Royal Caribbean) I am tired and we have the monthly brunch in the morning, so I don't have time to talk about the trip in detail, but suffice to say it was wonderful and we look forward to another cruise in the near future...have to make plans!
