A visit to Antarctica and other April 2021 pandemic activities

I didn't go to Antarctica but this presentation by fellow DKG member (Patti Rahn of Omicron) is so fascinating. It was a workshop tied to our recent Spring Convention. I hope sharing it here is okay- it was on You Tube, but maybe that is just a temporary platform.

A Visit to Antarctica

This post vaccine month hasn't been too different from the last year of pandemic stay homedness, but we managed to keep busy.

Let's see....

Attended Cindy Hady's online class with guest teacher Rona Kaye (and opened a paypal account just for her!)
I was delighted to attend a virtual tour of The Barnes Collection

(thanks to Rutgers Alumni and Jane Murphy telling me about it).

Tom and I went for a walk on this beautiful 80 degree late April day.

Then there was the fun of Jennifer's bingo cards for watching the Academy Awards with. (Surprise! Chadwick didn't win which led to a very anti-climatic ending to the show.)

This year's TCNJ Alumni weekend had some virtual events I was interested in: trivia and bingo. I didn't win, but it was fun, even though most of the alumni were really young!

The virtual NJREA Spring general membership meeting went smoothly. (I hope our BCREA one is too!)

The SHIP Spring training was also virtual.

I have been to  many of their online trainings this season.

After the cancellation of the 2020 DKG convention, they decided to hold this year's virtually. It was so well planned and executed!

The workshops were available separately. (See the Antarctica link above).

It was a two day event.

We have been dancing outside Prospectors. They hope to get permission for inside dancing asap

Upcoming: We just heard the roofers are coming to do the job on Tuesday at 7 a.m. Whoo hoo! (That means we are okay with the Tiver soft wash on the scheduled May 11)

Tom's eye surgery May 24, reconstruction May 25, hip replacement June 30

Potential visit with Sue and Patrick May 3 (in Philadelphia for dinner not here?)

NJEA Communications workshop

Working the outdoor Friends of the Library book sale

Roof and Eye

The Roof Next Door....

Have I mentioned that we are back in the market for a new roof? We called in three companies for estimates and then sat around. I got a name from our hair person, then bumped into a neighbor with a company, and then saw the neighbors getting theirs done yesterday and called them.

Wish us luck!

After driving to Jenkintown to meet with the surgeon doing Tom's upcoming eye surgery, we stopped at the Abington Boston Market for our 2nd post vaccine indoor dining event.

We also stopped on our way home for Dunkin Donuts and noticed how much smaller they are these days!

Looking back, looking ahead

I found fraudulant activity on our Amazon Prime Store Card. :-(

Jenn played with Anayah in the park on her vacation:

In looking for photos from Jeff and Alex's wedding, I came upon old photos of me I like.

This April would have been Jeff and Alex's 25th wedding anniversary. :-(
We are going to zoom with Alex and Nathan on Sunday.

Tom and I are both finished with vaccines for Covid, but are still shaky on stopping our safe at home practices.
Are we driving to Florida for our April 30-May 7 reservations in Ft. Lauderdale? Unclear at this time.

We are possibly moving along with the new roof prospects though. (fingers crossed).

I said, Happy Easter

I always loved this Easter card idea.

I said, HAPPY EASTER! right? <3

So it's April already. Tom and I are all vaccinated up, but still the virus is out there. I hope we get to see Sue and Patrick on their upcoming Zoe trip, but sadly we had to nix getting first crack at them after the plane ride east. We are also reconsidering the drive to Ft. Lauderdale for the first week of May (see skyrocketing cases post Spring Break)

Tax season (well, the tradtional kind) is nearing the end. I am glad I was able to get at least a few returns done so Idon't lose my spot. I really missed seeing a lot of my regulars.:-(

It looks like Samantha Johnson and the kids are in NYC. Cool. I saw facebook photos of Kendell and Junie. So cute. Poor Ross is home, though. I'll bet Millie and Harry are glad to see them all!

Tom isn't feeling well. :-(   I hope it wasn't from the dancing/sitting in the cold yesterday at Prospectors parking lot. It was our second time and so much fun!
