Key West

We are docked at Key West. This could be my last chance to be online til Sat.
We had breakfast delivered and ate on the balcony! Very nice!
Dancing last night with our crowd was big big fun!
Tonight is formal night at dinner and our only non-dancing evening onboard. I guess it's showtime, folks!

Onboard the Radiance of the Seas

We made it!
Here's all our photos so far:

Friday night we danced and then after a few hours of no sleeping, got on the bus to the airport. The flight was ok, the hotel was ok, the rental car was great! We went to the beach and lunch and after some napping, danced at the Roundup. (Ok I fell down in front of a big crowd in front of the hotel, but I didn't get hurt, thank goodness!)

We met up with Ganine and Lisa and Robyn and Leslie and we are all looking forward to a great time!

Getting ready

We are in the process of packing. If we get done in time, we can go dancing tonight. That is my incentive. Plus the fact that 4 a.m. is much too early to think about what to bring.

They claim our stateroom with balcony will look like this photo we got from the Royal Caribbean website.
Look forward to seeing the actual room shots upon our return.
It looks like a lot of fun and we are very excited about the whole thing!

Dem Bones Dem Bones

Well, I can see it's been awhile since I wrote. Did you miss me?

Margie Hummell is on her cruise now having a wonderful time I am sure, but before she left I found out she was reading my blog! I was so flattered!
I told her we would wave like crazy Sunday and Monday when we are both on cruise ships in the same general location, just in case!

Yes, we leave for Ft. Lauderdale Saturday morning at 4 a.m. and I am currently in mid-packing mode (now where's that suntan lotion...?) Tom thinks it is going to actually be warm, so I am shivering now, but ready to be happy soon. We rented a car for Saturday since we are getting there so early and also to hopefully go dancing that night. The ship leaves on Sunday....and that's when Ganine and Lisa and co. are arriving.

So...news lately is we've been doing our personal training and gym stuff (like it) and I did kick boxing (love it) and worked on the BCEA website more (went to the Rep Council meeting!) and danced and went with Tom to bowling (did I mention he bowled an 835 series two weeks ago?? Awesome!) Oh and the bones thing is it turns out i am really really close to the reading that means osteoporosis (I am not happy) so I am going to start taking medicine for it (but I think I'm going to wait to start til after the cruise because if I am one of the people that have bad side effects from it, I don't want to find out while I'm on vacation...!)

I hate the stock market.
I love Tom! (I bought some Valentine golf balls for him today..so cute...don't tell him...shh!)

NYC-Success....yes!

Our adventurous trip on the train to New York City to meet up with online friend Marc from Oregon was a big success. The train ride was easy and worry free. We landed close to where we wanted to be.
The TKTS place was great. We had dinner and saw "Rent" (our second time, Marc's first) and it was powerful once again.

I would do the trip again anytime! We are so experienced now! :-)

Training and websites and cruise...oh my!

Tomorrow is my first day with our personal trainer, Mike! Tom had his on Tuesday while I biked and walked and watched a movie in the back room of the gym. then we took a half hour walk together out in the balmy sunny day at Smithville Park. It was fun!

Our exercise for yesterday and today is dancing and tomorrow is the real thing for me and Tom will use his new workout plan.

Today at the exec meeting of BCEA I was approved, I hear, as the BCEA webmaster. The really good news is Monday we met with Ted and got things straightened out with him. I worked with Homestead and now the two domain names are both pointing to my BCEA website.

I went to the cruise meeting at Prospectors Monday night and got all our materials and the talk of what to expect. 4:30 a.m. is the meeting time for the bus. Oy! It is going to be so much fun, though! Whoo hoo!

I had a chance to see some school people when I went to the H.S. to give a check for the April bus trip to Laura. I put photos of the DIS folk that came by the office up on the DIS website. Everybody looked good!

We are very excited about taking the train to NYC Saturday to meet Marc, our Oregon online friend for dinner and show.

Time is going very fast. Nick is back from his Focus group trip to TX already; Samantha is going on her honeymoon, our cruise is in like two weeks...wow!

2008 and going strong.....

It's time for the first monthly friend's brunch of 2008. We are meeting The Commans and the Roses at Prospectors to start the year off right!

Prospectors is back to pay as you go for us, now that our happy year of King and Queenhood has reached reign's end (but there is hope....Evelyn and Paul are the new monarchs and it's second time around for them....!)

Since the year began I've been busy with appointments and plans. Two biggies are upcoming trips to NYC (with Marc from Oregon for dinner and a show next week, with Doreen and George (and now, it turns out, Laura and "Legally Blonde") in April), and Phoenix/Albequerque later in April, with an intervening trip to Miami in early March (still working on air flight shopping!).

We missed the window of opportunity to go to Virginia for a repeat post-Christmas trip to see the Goff's, and , sadly, that meant missing Mom and Miriam, too, but they all sound well and happy.....The Goff's are moving back to NC this summer...ah...army life....

Tom and I have chosen a path to a healthier life and signed up for a year's worth of personal trainer at our gym. Watch this site for updates on our progress!

Apparently our CA branch of family has suffered no ill effects from the monster storm, but oh ...the photos and stories on the news! Tell me we are not living in a disaster movie!

Happy New Year!

We had a lot of fun at Prospectors on New Year's Eve. It was our last day as King and Queen, though. We will really miss getting in for free! I'll bet we saved a thousand dollars for 2007, no exaggeration!

Good news: I won a fandango ticket on blingo! Bad news: I slept through my doctor's appointment Monday morning. Good news: it's recheduled for Wednesday.

Today I get to watch my former student, Kyle Melvin, in the Mummers Parade (while wearing the fund raiser t-shirt!). How exciting! Go, Hegemen String Band, go!
