Working hard...

The big story is....it's so really cold out! Brrr....

I've been working every day like 10-5 at HR Block. This work stuff is tiring! (and cutting into my dance time as a result). Everyday I learn something new, though, and I've met a lot of great people.

The CONTACT Recognition Dinner was heartwarming. I got there like an hour late with my shrimp cocktail (tied up at work!) bowl (and much thanks to Tom for getting it together for me to bring before he went to bowling!). There was soo  much great food there! I guess it was lucky I wasn't there longer, or I would have eaten a lot more!!! And guess who won the Second Chance afghan??? Me!

It's hard to believe January is almost over already. Wow.

And the beat goes on..........

Dancing at Prospectors was fun, as always!

I am looking forward to reconnecting with the Brunch Group. It seems like forever since we've been together.
The Contact Recognition Dinner is coming up next week. It doesn't seem like a year already that I attended the first one after the training of our "class of 73". (Not that I could use it for tax purposes this year, but I logged in 940 miles of travel time for my volunteer work with Contact. [Tip for itemizers: your mileage and out of pocket expenses for charity volunteer work is deductible!]

Speaking of which, if you know anyone with tax questions, I'm working as a tax preparer at the H & R Block office in the Burlington Center, Sears, and would be happy to help answer them.

The first "peak" for tax prep is coming up and I am going to be available every day for it this year.

Tom and I are currently on a very healthy diet and feeling good!

Hello to Marge and Mike, cruising...Dori, my new reader....Jon, filming stories from Haiti....Millie, happy birthday....Terri, stay strong........

A New Adventure!

I have carefully researched and plotted my course. I am taking the train to Philadelphia to meet up with Ann Sunday at the Academy of Music to see Wicked. How exciting! I have wanted to see the show again from the moment it was over the first time I saw it, on Broadway. (You can keep the book! But...oh, the show!!!)

Tax season is upon us and I hope I will be helping lots of folks get the best results possible on their tax returns. I saw the article about the IRS setting parameters and requirements on professional tax preparers in the near future and it made me smile because H & R Block tax preparers already meet the proposed standard minimums and more!

I am looking forward to dancing tonight. Today I have a DKG meeting and tomorrow after work I have my first Eastampton Recreation Committee meeting. Life is good. (and your little dog, too!)

Happy New Year!

So far 2010 is going very well!

Tom and I just finished watching the movie "Up". I now know why everyone is speaking so highly of it. Very well done.

Last night we had big big fun dancing with the New Years Day crowd at Prospectors...saw a lot of old timers (as in from the olden days, not that we are old!) bringing back fond memories. We danced and had fun there Wednesday, too.

We have tonight and tomorrow and then Monday I go to work But, seriously folks, it's not like school and lesson plans....it's H & R Block and I am looking forward to it!

Tom has been going to the gym wayyyy more than me. I need a plan to follow. Note to self: add that to the "things to do" list. Hmm...on page 4 already....... (!)

I am looking forward to the next Brunch Group get together. I wonder when it will be? And Wicked with Ann soon! Yay!

Happy New Year!

Rating the new year..........Is it going to be a 10?

It's Christmas morning 2009........not a creature is stirring.......

Pelham two week-ends ago with the Kayes and Mays was great. Now the London Kayes are back home for a visit and the CA Mays are on the other side of the country along with Jenn and Jass, and we are in snow covered NJ.

Our romantic get-away at the Pocono Palace in East Stroudsburg was fun, too. Nothing like a heart-shaped jacuzzi, cozy fireplace, personal pool, and round bed to set the mood. The resort's game room and delicious dining experience were the icing, as it were.

We were home in time to "welcome" the big NE snowstorm of pre-winter season 09-10....24 inches of snow! (Even I was out shoveling!!!)

It's vacation time!

Back in the Saddle Again

Well, we are back in NJ just in time for freezing!!! (Literally, 32 degrees today)
I went over with my DKG sisters to Innova and sang with the patients there. It was fun, but there were some new restrictions that limited us in gift giving and picture taking.

We loved hooking up with Dana and Sue, our online friends, for dinner at Prospectors last night, and then the Josh Turner concert (short, but awesome...his set, not stature! LOL) and a coupla hours dancing fun.

To recap the FL trip...it was fun with Wilma and Harry, the talk, dancing at Cowboys, Universal, visiting with Linda, pool and sun, pool and sun, lots of fun! The delayed flight home wasn't too too bad. All in all, it was a fine vacation trip!

Tomorrow I want to finalize all my HR Block requirements and be totally fluid in handling Emerald Advances. My first day of work-work is Monday at 10 in Burlington City. :-)

Sunday we are driving to Pelham for a big family get together. Film at 11.....

Sunny Florida

Today was a rainy day in sunny FL; we played pinochle and ate in with Wilma and Harry. Last night we ate and ate and ate at Boston Lobster Feast. It was awesome!!!
We had a lot of fun in the sun at the pool and jacuzzis, steam room, sauna, et al.
They had to head back to Sebastian today; we'll miss them!

I hear talk of snow back home. I'm glad we're here and not there (but I hope it melts fast off our driveway and sidewalks while we aren't there to deal with it!)

They have a "Cowboys" near us to keep the country dancing itch satisfied; yay.

Future plans include Universal and finding Linda among other things.
