Heading for home

We are en route to NJ from Myrtle Beach with a planned stop in Dunfries, VA to return Tom's mom to Amy and family.

The vacation in SC was big big fun (as always). Last night we took mom and the visiting Joanne to the Beach Wagon. That was following an afternoon on the sunny beach overlook by our pool.

It was good to see Joanne after all this time! The good news is she will be in NJ in June with Rachel and we will get to see them!

Vacation activities included the Sexton Clinic (It's for teeth! what did you think?) for Tom's mom, golfing, sun on the beach and relaxing jacuzzi time. (I did a water exercise class one morning too!)

News from friends afar include: sadly Terri is saying good-bye to a very sick Merlin, happily, Shaun and Amy had a baby boy, adventuresomely former student Lauren Brown is on an extended excursion in Vietnam and beyond. She has a fascinating blog!

There is no news from Doreen and George :-( ever since email to her kept bouncing back. I am hoping they are fine (and happy birthday and Mother's Day to her mom (and Doreen too! and all you mothers out there!)

Myrtle Beach and wheelies in the sand

We left at 4 a.m. Friday morning and, after a stop at Amy's in Dunfries, VA to meet and greet and pick up Tom's mom, we drove and drove and got to Myrtle Beach around 5 p.m.

We did the traditional dinner at Bennett's Calabash, a seafood buffet that Mom loved as much as we always do.

We have a great two bedroom place at Shorecrest with an unbelievable ocean view. If you stand back a bit from the sliding door, it looks like the view from a cruise ship balcony!

Today we experienced a made for the beach wheelchair for the very first time. It was extraordinary, and served its purpose well!
Mom loved being on the beach and made lots of new friends.

Home but not for long!

We are back in NJ as of last night. It was raining and cold here...not anything like sunny 90 degree Phoenix, but spring is here, right? At least we don't have fire, tornados, or floods. (Ever feel like we're living in a disaster movie these days when you read the news???)

We loved Phoenix, to catch you up on our travels, and then had an uneventful flight to Albequerque.....which was like 20 degrees colder. The hotel was nice and the people were very friendly. We had a great Mexican lunch and enjoyed watching the dancers at Graham Central Station (Me: Do you ever line dance here? Cowboy: NEVER! ) When we left the line was five wide and a mile deep of people waiting to get in (It was the last day of the "Gathering of Nations")

The bowling results didn't work out as well as hoped.....

Next year in Las Vegas, eh?

Day three in Phoenix

We are having too much fun to write, but just fyi, we are loving Phoenix and the Legacy Golf Resort. Off to Albuquerque tomorrow. Highlights here have been golf, the pool, dancing, the gorgeous room and the really nice people we have met. Oh, and did I mention the beautiful weather???

Celebrating in Times Square

We are leaving shortly for the train to NYC. It's Tom's birthday and we are meeting George and Doreen for a good time in the big city. (Who knew the Pope was coming too???)

The plans include a hotel in Times Square (5, 4, 3, 2, 1...Happy New Year!), dinner, a comedy show, brunch and then on to catch up with the Delran crew for the Broadway Show version of "Legally Blonde". We are expecting to have such a good time!

Talking about shows, let me briefly praise Jay Dorfman and the cast and crew of the Middle School production of Music Man. It was great! Mary Melvin, proud mother of two stars of the performance, keeps me up to date with important and events.

We've missed dancing because Tom has been sick (and I hope I am not getting it now!) but we should be back soon, I hope. Oh which reminds me...Prospectors is a myspace entity now. What fun!

My beautiful niece

Sister Sue is home from her fabulous California coast 25th anniversary trip and informs me that daughter number two (the second May child, born May 2!) is graduating this June! Check it out!

Time sure flies when you can watch the children growing up!
And the adults too..........

April, No fooling!

My sister is celebrating her 25th anniversary in Kuaui, George is facing surgery on Thursday, and I saw Rob Broderick pop up on WHYY TV12.

I had what I thought was a pretty cute tourney page for my April Fool's Daily Whomp. Here is the picture from it: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b47/rosallee/April1WhompTop.jpg

The stock market went up a lot today, which was great to see after all this going down time....

I skipped Sugarfootin' Sunday dancing to go with Tom to his bowling tournament. He had an amazing game (268) in the teams, but they moved him to unworkable lanes for doubles and singles, so it ended up very disappointing.

I still love my Monday night kick boxing class and we are very faithful to working out in the gym, if not a nutritious diet.
