After my SHIP counseling volunteer work yesterday, Tom and I headed out to play golf.
It was a really slow day there and we got out so late I didn't get to see Tequila Rose in concert at the library amphitheater as planned, nor dance at Prospectors. I was so tired!
Not to forget the bumper car-like jolt we got when our new friend/third player, Sean, didn't realize we'd stopped suddenly and hit us. Boom! :-(
We will be heading to Myrtle Beach soon, and plan to stop for a quick mini reunion with Chris in VA on the way down and have a mini reunion lunch in Wilmington, NC with Jo-Ann and Georganne.
Sadly, Margie and Mike will be coming back up to NJ just before we get down there. :-(
Sue celebrated her birthday in America this year. Cody and Zoe surprised her by showing up (they are currently living in Scottsdale, AZ and Seattle, WA, respectively).
Over these too swiftly passing summer months I have been plowing through Harlan Coben books (among others), reinventing a website for Sigma, working with constant contact for BCREA and mailchimp for my DEAR friends in addition to the usual dancing and movie-going and other fun things.
Don't even ask me about the hours and hours working on the Fundamentals of Corporations class for HR Block. Whoever wrote this immensely user-unfriendly online text and test questions really knew how to take the "fun" out of "fundamental". Ridiculous!

All About Tom
Today Tom had some early morning surgery. This is part of a continuing follow up on his bladder cancer from five years ago.
On a brighter side, we had a delcious smorgasbord lunch at Shady Maple and then a wonderful show- Jonah- at the Light and Sound Theater in Lancaster, PA. It was a bus trip. Dolly came with us and she had a good time. Judy Clyde was our DKG trip organizer and she did a great job.
A interesting side note: when we returned to our parked car when the bus brought us back to the designated parking area, it was really cold with the air conditioning blowing when we got in and we realized that, although locked, the car had been running all day (12 hours!). These new fangled keyless starting cars are very quiet. We had been watching a movie in the car while waiting for the bus in the morning and didn't realize that the car was still on. Who knew?
I am bringing Tom to the doctor's office tomorrow at dawn, but we won't have test results for awhile. I am hoping all is well and he won't have to start up the BCG treatments again.
We are looking forward to the Jamboree in the Hills.
I can't believe it will be July in two days!

Nashville Limo
In a special treat yesterday, Tom and I got to hang with Shelby Lee Lowe, singer/songwriter.
We watched him perform at the Wildhorse (and we got to dance there, too! Whoo hoo!) and then went on a tour of Nashville and his working place with Banner on Music Row in a limousine! So much fun!

Karaoke? LOL
We visited lots of booths (Riverfront Stage was outrageously crowded...too many in the line to get in, for sure, so Day 1 we visited booths and hung out at FanX in Music City, listened to some music there, and had fun). The Nisson stage line up was awesome to begin with and then they surprised us midway with Garth.

June is bustin' out....
Good news is Margie's surgery went well and she is okay. We got to see her briefly while we were down in Myrtle Beach for Tom's dental visit.
Sad news is Dolly's husband passed away (the funeral service is tomorrow). Marion's sister, Virginia, also passed away recently.
I won two door prizes in isolated events in May....feeling lucky!
Friday is the Contact 45th Anniversary Barbecue event and I am in charge of both photos and line dancing. (It's also the Strawberry Festival and our last chance to get xtu concert tickets at Pros from Razz if any are left over.)

Monday we leave for the CMA Music Fest (what a shock it was to learn that the Nashville hotel where we had reservations was closed! OMG! )We scrambled and acquired new (more expensive, of course) digs and are all set. (I put all my pick options on Keith Urban. I hope we get him! :-)
Geico insurance has gone up every six months since we started with them in June 2014. Time to investigate a move....but not until after this trip, eh?

Visiting friends
We just switched over to Shorecrest for the week-end (and thunderstorms on tap for tomorrow).
We hooked up with the Brewins for dinner last night. Yum yum
Crepe Creation Cafe in Market Common was awesome. Larry, the owner, was great.
We each had something different and loved our choices. I had chicken florentine crepe, Tom had a taco crepe, Jo-Anne had souvlaki and Doug had a roast beef panini. The Reese's crepe dessert was incredible!
We also had a chance to visit Margie and Mike and Pat and all in Conway between checking out and dentist appointment (waited over two hours for a four minute adjustment. Oy. But our room was so ready by the time we got to the resort). No one wanted their picture taken, but look at this wall, Margie designed....OMG!
I hope it works out that we see them again (Mother's Day at Olive Gardent) before we head home. :-)
Meanwhile, I hope Joanne K. and Ida have been enjoying happy birthdays.

Here I am!
I must have been among the missing. Last post over a month ago? Oops.
Well, Garth was great, Tom's surgery was cancelled (postponed?) due to the discovery that he is diabetic now. (Poor Tom...what next? Oh, yeah. Cold sore recurrence...)
The good news is we are in Myrtle Beach (and it is warmer than NJ where everyone outside in facebook photos is wearing heavy jackets, hats, and scarves) and it is going to be in the low 80's in a few days.
We saw Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 yesterday and loved it. Way too much violence for me, but adorable Baby Groot, funny lines, good music, love surprises, and a mostly followable plot outweighed all the onscreen killing.
Tax season is over (and I took my first 2017 continuing ed class last night).
I am looking forward to setting a date for the next classmates reunion-ish lunch. It's been too long.
Sue and family are coming home from France/Switzerland today. I saw Gina say she had lunch with Jackson and his girl today in Washington (I didn't realize they were in visiting regularly distance. Nice.) I still have my card for Jenn's grandchild to send...and Zoe's, too.
