It's May!

The big news is Sue and Patrick came to visit! Whoo hoo! We were so happy to see them!

They didn't stay long, but we packed in some adventures, ate at Robins Nest, and watched Free Guy.

I found out there is a new tea place in Mt. Holly and I am going to an afternoon tea party with friends Louise and Dolly on Friday.

Yesterday was the 100th anniversary celebration for NJREA and we drove up to the event in Old Bridge in a hired van that Toni organized for us.

Sadly, I realized...too late...that one of my book clubs was last night. :-(   I have another chance to discuss a book tonight with a different group's zoom book club (I won't miss it because it is my zoom!).

On the financial front, the stock market is down and gas prices are still up, but good news...the new interest rate on I bonds is over 9 percent for the next 6 months and I have some! :-)

Upcoming this week is Zoe's birthday (today!), a doctor's appt, the aforementioned tea party, book club, dancing, and ...hopefully....new movies to attend. Oh, and continuation of deck, new doors, and patio, our latest project.

Tax season is over!

The last days of this tax season were packed with people and I worked late late hours for the last four days. Now I am free! :-)

So today we had Edwards and Sons tear down our deck and take out all the bricks of the patio. Tomorow two trees come down and soon our outside will be very different - on the looking good side. (Next: kitchen, right?)

Today we ate at our favorite place and then went to the movies. 5000 with the CA crowd tonight and looking forward to seeing Sue and Patrick on the 29th!

We won tickets to see Oklahoma!

Maybe I'll save before and after deck/patio photos until there's an after!

2022

I can't believe I haven't written anything since last December and now it is March! OMG

I've been working regularly at HR Block since January--not many clients due to being gone last year but that's okay. I am still all masked up but office safety leniency is in effect so there's that.

Tom continues to have a myriad of doctor's appointments. We do movies (empty theaters) and dance (on the outskirts when possible) if it's not too too crowded (which it is getting to be more and more often...good for Prospectors, but still scary for us)

Lunch with Gee Gee has been back on and I am now on the Friends of the Library Board.

My birthday is coming up (I hope my renewed license gets here soon!)

Still zooming 5000 and Jeopardy with the fam (Yay!) Caitlin and Eric are looking for a house (and the baby is coming along splendidly).

We need to start making plans for the  CMA music fest....after waiting two years! (We have never used the RCI time share we bought right before the pandemic hit and bluegreen has been by the wayside too).

The Russian invasion of the Ukraine is on all our minds. So terrible.:-(

Christmastime

 We dressed up for dancing.

This was at Mastoris. (Now they won't be open after the end of the year until like Feb. Renovations. Again.)

We played 5000 with Nathan before Christmas. He safely made it over to London with the boys despite the Netherlands lockdown during this increased omicron pandemic surge.

Jennifer saw Jodie at Vivien''s.

We played 5000 with the Mays including Zoe and Cody (who arrived in CA and tested positive for Covid!) and Sarrah. They called on Christmas, too, after a full day of unwrapping.

Tom got me an Amazfit watch, which was a little overwhelming at first, but now that I can see steps on it, yay. :-)

We bought I bonds (thank you, Chip). Hope the interest level hangs on for awhile!

I watched the whole season 3 of Emily in Paris in one sitting. (Sorry it's over).

Ding dong, ding dong....Christmas bells are ringing.

Okay so it's four days before Christmas and I keep procrastinating the cards, as ususal!

But is it time to catch up with goings on? Let's see what google photos has to remind me of.

Xfinity or bust

This morning's funeral service for Rick Trout, fellow SHIP volunteer, was very sad. He passed away unexpectedly at age 74 and he will be missed.

From there, I met up with Tom at the Xfinity store for our 1:30 appointment to switch our cell phone service to xfinity from verizon and get (relatively free) new phones. Three and a half hours later we walked out with not only the two new phones, but also our old phones, functioning on the new plan with new phone numbers. Cool, right?

Looking back a few days, Tom went to church on Sunday, we celebrated Veterans Day with Tom golfing (and hurting after :-(, a haircut for him, and dinner at IHOP (Applebees, fancy-like) had an hour and a half wait (not enough servers to accommodate).

Only danced on Wednesday, but there's always next week!

Daylight savings time is over

And now it is November! I shake my head in disbelief.....

So there was the wedding week-end and fun here with Jennifer, and Van Gogh, and back to dancing at Mastoris and Prospectors. There was the election (Yay for Governor Murphy!....what a nail biter!), and the NJREA and NJEA conventions, and today's paper shredding event.
